Thor is a superhero of a comic book series created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Larry Lieber. He first appeared in 1962 in issue 83 of the “Journey into Mystery” series. The character is based on Thor, the Norse god of thunder and son of Odin. He is also one of the founding members of the group called the Avengers and appears in all four issues of the comic.
During a ceremony, Thor was to be announced as the successor to his father Odin’s throne. However, the ceremony was interrupted. As it later turned out, a group of ice giants wanted to obtain the Tesseract, a powerful source of power. They were, however, annihilated by the Destroyer. However, this failed attempt to steal the powerful artifact worried Thor, who decided to take matters into his own hands and deal with the king of the ice giants, Laufey, against his father’s wishes. He sets out to Jotunheim, the land of the ice giants, with Loki, Lady Sif, Hogun, Volstagg, and Frandall. During the visit to Jotunheim, a fight breaks out. They end with Odin’s arrival, who takes Thor and the others back to Asgard. Upon their return, a quarrel breaks out between Thor and Odin. Odin accuses his son of senselessly starting a war, while Thor calls his father an old fool. As a result of this quarrel, Odin takes Thor’s powers and equipment and banishes him to Earth in the body of a lame doctor named Donald Blake. During his exile, Thor realizes many things, as a result of which he changes for the better. He falls in love with Jane Foster. He sets out to recover Mjolnir from S.H.I.E.L.D. agents led by Phillip Coulson but is hit by a stunning arrow fired by Clint Barton. He is interrogated. Loki visits him. After obtaining Mjolnir and regaining his powers, he helps S.H.I.E.L.D. defeat the Destroyer. Upon returning to Asgard, he defeats Loki, who, by expanding the Bifrost, wanted to destroy Jotunheim. To save Jotunheim, Thor destroys the Bifrost. He couldn’t return to Earth for a long time.
