Black Widow (Natalia Romanova) (Чёрная вдова; ‘Chernaya Vdova’; Natasha Romanoff, Nadine Roman, “Nat,” Tsarina, Oktober, Laura Matthers, Nancy Rushman, Black Pearl, Natalia Shostakova, Natuska, Czarina[1]) whose real name is Natalia “Natasha” Alianovna Romanova, is a fictional character (originally a villain, later a superhero) appearing in comics published by Marvel Comics. Created by editor and creator Stan Lee, writer Don Rico, and artist Don Heck.
She first appears in Tales of Suspense vol. 1 #52 (April 1964). At first, she is introduced as a Soviet spy and antagonist of the superhero Iron Man. Later, she escapes to the United States, becoming an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., a fictional spy agency, and a member of the Avengers superhero team. Often portrayed as a femme fatale, Black Widow ranked 31st in The Comics Buyer’s Guide’s poll of the sexiest women in the world of comics.
