S. Danilin lives with his wife and family in St. Petersburg, Russia, which for three centuries was the epicenter of Russian art, literature and religion. At age eight, Sergei began his classical painting training at the Repin Institute of the Russian Academy of Art in St. Petersburg. At age seventeen, he started to study at the Academy and at age twenty-three was appointed to the faculty. He taught there until 1985. In the past twelve years, Mr. Danilin has traveled many times to Europe and to the USA to paint. In Europe Sergei is mostly known for his historical paintings but in the USA he is lauded as an individual and family portraitist. Many clients invite him to paint in their homes to fully understand and capture the essence of the family and it's surroundings. In these works the viewer can observe the masterfully captured beauty and complexity of human relationships. S. Danilin is well known by people who cherish and appreciate exceptional art.
